If you are beta testing High Sierra with Office 2016, be sure to select Fast Insider updates under Help >Check for Updates in the Menu bar.

Office for Mac 2011 will no longer receive updates in October 2017. It will be an End of Life product. If you wish to continue using Office 2011 for Mac, do not upgrade to High Sierra.

What does Entourage for Exchange Web Services mean for you?

Earlier this week the Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU) at Microsoft announced Entourage for Exchange Web Services (EWS). MacBU expects to release a “public beta” for this new version of Entourage later this month. This version of Entourage will finally deliver some of the most highly requested features for Exchange users–specifically synchronization of tasks, notes and categories.

“Will there be a public beta for Entourage?”

The answer is highly unlikely. There has never been a public beta for the Mac Office applications. Software Activation is not available for Mac Office. Without software activation, the software pirates could produce bootleg copies of the software from the beta version.

Microsoft has offered a “Test Drive” version for both Office X and Office 2004. I’m confident that there will be a “Test Drive” for Office . . .
