Setting the Folder window in Entourage 2008

The folder window is the left most column in Entourage. New in Entourage 2008, your default account will be listed at the top of the window. In previous versions, folders “On My Computer” (for POP accounts) was always on top followed by IMAP and Exchange accounts. This bug is really a new feature in SP1

Shawn, a co-worker in one of our Boston offices, was bitten today not by a bug but rather a new feature in Entourage 2008 SP1 (12.1.0). Every message he was receiving showed his correct E-mail address but the wrong display name. They looked something like this:

instead of this:

At first we thought possibly his Exchange account was incorrectly configured. A quick check of Active Directory showed everything was just fine.

Entourage and Time Machine

Time Machine is a breakthrough automatic backup feature that’s built right into Mac OS X Leopard, but for Entourage users it’s recommended that you exclude your Identity from Time Machine.

Time Machine creates hourly backups and will create a copy of your database every time anything new is added to Entourage. This can quickly fill up your Time Machine drive.
