DO NOT DOWNLOAD Service Pack 2 (SP2) 14.2.0. This update contains problems that were fixed in 14.2.1. You can go directly from 14.1.0 or higher to 14.2.1. SKIP the 14.2.0 updater. [Added May 3, 2012]

If you get the following error “Your identity is older than this version of Outlook” you will need to revert to Office 2011 v14.1.4 in order to repair your identity.

How to revert to Microsoft Office for Mac 14.1.4 after upgrading to SP2

If you need to revert to a previous version of Microsoft Office for Mac after a bad update, it’s a fairly easy process as long as you have a backup on Time Machine or other backup like a CCC or SuperDuper clone. If you do not have a backup copy of your Microsoft Office 2011 folder, you will need to re-install Office.
