Fix for PPC users on Tiger updating Office 2008

Office 2008 users on a PowerPC (PPC) running Tiger (10.4.xx ) that applied the Microsoft Office 12.2.7 updater might need to do this fix in order for the Microsoft AutoUpdater (MAU) to work correctly.

Locate this folder: Library/Application Support/Microsoft

Option 1: If you have not installed 12.2.8 updater….

Remove the MAU and MERP folder (just trash them), and then run the 12.2.8 update. They will get the correct version of MAU and MERP. Restart . . .

Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.2.8 Update released

Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.2.8 Update now available via Microsoft AutoUpdater or by direct download. If you installed 12.2.7 and were experiencing problems, it’s unclear at this time if the updater will fix those issues or if you will need to re-install Office. Entourage coexists with Office 2011 Home & Student

Entourage crashes after updating to 12.2.7

Some users are reporting crashes after updating to 12.2.7. You will need to revert to 12.2.6 until Microsoft releases a fix.

Option 1) Copy the entire Microsoft Office 2008 (12.2.6) folder from Time Machine or any backup and replace the Microsoft Office 2008 folder in Applications.

Option 2) If you do not have a backup, you will need to re-install Office 2008 and update to 12.2.6. The Microsoft AutoUpdater will want to download the 12.2.7 . . .

Microsoft releases Office 2008 for Mac 12.2.7 Update and Web Services Edition 13.0.7

Microsoft has released the Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.2.7 Update. (333 MB) It has also released the Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac, Web Services Edition installer. (64 MB) The update requires that the Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Service Pack 1 (12.1.0) or later be installed first. Entourage for EWS: Notes and Tasks don’t sync?

Along with mail, calendars and contacts, Entourage for Exchange Web Services (EWS) now syncs notes and tasks with Exchange. However, users are reporting mixed results. Notes and tasks seem to sync reliably when using Apple’s Mail application in Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), but Entourage users may see either no syncing or partial syncing.
