Trial for Office 2011 now available

Microsoft announced  a full trial is now available at www.microsoft.com/mac/trial for Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 (in multiple languages). Free to use for 30-days after download. The trial version is 14.0.1. You’ll need to update to 14.0.2 after installing,

The 2011 trial is live in North America and Europe, except for Germany. Trial will be available in Germany and Asia later today.

If you have purchased a non-English version but need the English version you can download and use your CD key to activate. You need to install on the same machine as your previous install. Re-activating on the same machine will not use up an activation.

Note: You will not be able to toggle back and forth between languages without activating each time.  The Office 2011 product key can only be used a fixed number of times (exact number depends on the SKU purchased).

If you have a POP account, be sure to set to “leave on server” while you are testing Outlook. This way if you decide not to upgrade. your received mail will still be on the server.

Office 2011 installs some duplicate fonts. Be sure to clean up fonts after installing. See Font Management for help.

See Tips for a successful install.
