Access buried features in Excel with a free toolbar

MVP toolbarFellow MVP Jim Gordon, co-author of the soon to be released book Office 2011 for Mac All-in-One For Dummies, has posted a free toolbar for Excel 2011 for Mac. The toolbar contains more than 30 generally convenient commands, form controls for worksheets and dialog sheets, VBA commands and some not so convenient tools.

Download the toolbar from his website and open the Excel document. The new toolbar will appear above the new Excel window but can be resized and relocated anywhere on the screen.

The toolbar contains commands already found in Excel but which users may not easily find in the interface. Excel users can further customize it by selecting Toolbars –> Customize Toolbars and Menus… from the View menu. It also can be attached to workbooks for portability and to make it available on other computers.

Jim used no macros to create the toolbar so viruses cannot affect it. It appears to work in Excel for Windows as well but Jim makes no guarantees.
