I’ve just posted an update to my Entourage Exchange Setup scripts on the Entourage Help Page. Entourage Exchange Setup 3.0 is a much improved version of my earlier scripts that Macintosh administrators can customize to assist their users with connecting Entourage to Exchange Server.

Free Hotmail accounts soon accessible to Entourage

Microsoft announced January 13 that it is reversing its long-standing decision to charge for POP access to their free Hotmail accounts. What use to be accessible only to Hotmail Plus subscribers will soon be available to all Hotmail users.

Phase 1 of Microsoft’s roll-out has already enabled POP access in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK. The United States is slated for Phase 2 of the roll-out in February.

Use Contextual menus a.k.a. right-click

Increase Productivity Features & Functionality

The Finder and many other applications like Entourage take advantage of special shortcut menus called “contextual menus” (also called context menus in Windows). Once you know these menus are available, you’ll find them indispensable.

Different items appear in a shortcut menu, depending on the context. To see the shortcut menu for an item, hold down the Control key and click the item. For switchers this is the same as right-click. . . .

What does Entourage for Exchange Web Services mean for you?

Earlier this week the Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU) at Microsoft announced Entourage for Exchange Web Services (EWS). MacBU expects to release a “public beta” for this new version of Entourage later this month.
