How-To: Install with Upgrade CD

If you are using an “upgrade” CD of Office for Mac and are trying to install, but no longer have the older version installed, follow these steps:

  1. Install from the new UPGRADE CD
  2. Follow the Instructions
  3. When instructed, insert the original CD (E.g. Office:mac Upgrade 2001)
  4. Browse to the Microsoft Office FOLDER on the original ‘CD’ (POINTING TO THE ‘CD’ does not work)
  5. Install the updates.
