Yahoo Mail Bug Fix for DSL Users

Are you an AT&T/Yahoo DSL user having trouble sending e-mail? Do you receive error message that states that the user password was rejected or that the e-mail address needs to be verified? It’s not your fault!

Along with many other ISPs, AT&T implemented increased security settings by changing the name of its servers. As a result, you need to update the settings in your e-mail client to reflect these changes. How to setup your account….

Fix:

  1. If your POP server and SMTP server names include “sbcglobal,” substitute “att” instead. For example, change “smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com” to “smtp.att.yahoo.com.”
    1. Do not change the “sbcglobal” term in your e-mail address (EMAIL)
  2. Enable SSL for your POP server and select to override the default POP port with port 995.
  3. Enable SSL for your SMTP server and select to override the default SMTP port with port 465.
  4. This should fix your problem. If not, then contact AT&T
