Signature Blocks and Netiquette

Have you ever noticed the dashes before a signature? “– ” (two hyphens, a space, and a line break) on a line by itself. They are known as sig dashes, signature cut line and sig-marker. This is the first line of a signature. Entourage automatically includes the sig dashes when you create a signature using Signatures under Tools in the menu bar.

Laptop users who move between their company network and another network, such as a home or a coffeehouse network, may need to connect to different Exchange Server addresses depending on the location. Ad agency tests dumping Entourage for CrossOver Mac and Outlook

Early last month I attended a local user group for IT professionals who mostly specialize in the support of advertising and publishing organizations. Most, if not all of us, support Macs in Windows environments where Exchange is the de facto email server system but I was surprised to hear that one local business is experimenting with using Outlook for Windows with CrossOver Mac as a replacement for Entourage.

Correct an AutoCorrect Entry

The Finder shortcut Command-Z will undo your last action. In Entourage it’s also useful to undo an AutoCorrect entry. For example you want to type HSA but AutoCorrect changes it to HAS. You have two choices.

Change it in AutoCorrect. Go to Tools and click on AutoCorrect (the same feature can also be found in Word, by the way). Scroll down the list until you reach the entry “hsa”, click on it and delete it, . . .
